Effective Friday, February 1, 2019 office hours will be Monday- Friday 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. The cut off time for E-recording will remain at 4:00 P.M.

The Lucas County Recorder’s Office does not publicly disclose information on recording backlog. However, noted that the county’s document turnaround time is 24 hours.

The Lucas County Recorder’s document standardization guidelines are as follows:

Paper Size
8 ½ x 11 – minimum
8 ½ x 14 – maximum

Margins
3 inch top margin on first page
1 ½ inch top margin on subsequent pages
1 inch margin on sides and bottom of all pages

Font Size
minimum of 10 points

Ink Color
Black or Blue only
No highlighting

A non-conforming document charge of $20 for items not meeting these specifications will be assessed.

The Lucas County Recorder’s recording fees are as follows:

Recording Fees

Basic Recording Fee: $28.00 for the first two pages and $8.00 for each additional page.

Effective October 17, 2019, statewide recording fees for most documents will increase by $6.00 due to the enactment of HB 166 state budget legislation. The new recording fee for the first two pages will be $34.00 (previously $28.00). Each additional page remains the same as current law at $8.00. Half of all recording fees collected are required to be submitted to the state to the credit of the Ohio Housing Trust Fund.

Document Standardization ORC 317.114: $20.00 per document — Non-compliance fee

Reference Fee documents with references for marginal notation (i.e. Releases, Assignments, Mortgage Activity, etc.):

Federal Tax Lien Releases: $3.00

Copy Fees

Assisted photocopies: $2.00 per page
Non-Assisted photocopies: $0.05 per page
Certification fee: $1.00 per document
