We have designed a new building for a private developer using private development funds. The building will be occupied by a County use and the County will be paying rent to the developer. We are now in construction and the question being raised is do the soil technicians testing the soil, the surveyor doing construction staking for the grading and the deputy inspector inspecting the welding, concrete, etc be paid prevailing or David Bacon wages. We are a private firm that is considering performing surveying for public works projects. Our surveyors report to the office before going to a jobsite. They are paid their normal hourly wage for travel to and from the jobsite. My question is do we have to pay the "prevailing wage rate" for travel or can we continue to pay their normal hourly wage when traveling to a "prevailing project"?...Read More

the company i was working for in 2018, most jobs were prevailing wage, however, i do not find their records accurate. There is no breakdown shown or rate of prevailing wage on my paycheck except on the very bottom is says "prevailing" and then an amount. ie: "$847.00" the problem with that is in a given day and definitley in a given pay period, i wouldve worked on multiple job sites all with different prevailing wages. My records are much different from what is listed on my checks. incedibly vauge information, and when i ask for a breakdown, i never get one. what can i do to get my complete payroll records?...Read More
