The contractor did a very unsatisfactory job. As consumers, we had to hire somone else to finish and correct the work. We paid the contractor $3,600 on a $4,181 contract value (with a serious defect in the definition of the work to be done) He says it is something, but we say it is what we asked upon initial discussion with photos of the results wanted. We paid him about 85% of the sum ($3,600 for 6 hours work) asking him to come back and remediate the situation. Also telling him that he would get the balance upon finishing the work. He is laughing at us and is now threatening us with a mechanic's lien. What should we do. He did not complete the work but he says he did. ...Read More
I bought a pre sale condo and my contract says 630 sft an the plan which I signed and referred to also indicated 630sft. However, recently when I visited the developer's website, I opened the plan of the unit which I purchased only to discover that they change my plan, they took off some of my living room space and made it in to a balcony. On the new plan the total private portion was 603 sft.
Thus, I have lost 23 sft without even being told.
What should I do other than informing them my discovery?
What if they do not change the plan back I paid 630sft of property for 603sft. Not to mention I paid that back in 2019 an real estate has risen per square footage in the last 2 years.
Please advise.
