I just received an NOI from a handyman we hired. He quoted us a price of $200 and said it would take him a day to a day and a half to finish. On the third day, work was still not done! At that time, we gave him $100 (I have a signed receipt from him) and told him we would give him the $100 balance when the work was completed. On day 4, he got agitated about something, startine swearing and throwing his tools., He then walked out! I have pictures of the mess he left behind and the unfinished work. We had to hire someone else to come in and finish the job and correct all the mistakes he made. That cost us $300!
The first handyman sent the NOI, stated we owe him $200.
How do I dispute this or should we just ignore it? ...Read More
This question is probably not one you are used to getting but here goes:
I see your site is primarily for general contractor's, but I am being harrassed by a Pool Service company (so she is not a GC, but rather she provides a 'service') who is threatening to put a lien on my home over $75. Her business address comes back to a UPS Store address.
She is threatening that if I don't respond to her text within 24 hours, she and her attorney (her uncle) are going to slap a lien on me. I cant find anything about the validity of her 'license' number and she did not complete the job. She quoted me one install fee ($75) while I was her customer and then doubled the install fee (to $150) after the fact when I fired her (or told her I was looking for a new pool service). I fired her because she had not completed the pool pump install after two weeks. Can she really file a lien on my home over her 'newfound' fees?

Im a sub for a sub that did work on a government project on Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas Nv. The last day we worked was on was April 20th, 2019, the job was put on hold due to mold being found in the dorms . We were originally supposed to just open the fire chases and walls to give the plumber access to the cracked drain pipes and repair the opening, texture and paint to match. When we open up the fire chases we found that there was damage and holes in the walls that was done by some previous repairs, We were instructed to repair the damage and holes and to fire caulk all pipes, we were sent hand drawn drawings on how to do the repairs by Ellard Comstack who was the senior project manager at the time , i never got a change order, i just hand wrote a paper with the price and Ellard signed it as a letter of intent and I just last month went to Tuscan to get a statement from him that says Yes he did tell me to do the work. The job has now been cancelled and it will be rewritten and will have to be rebid, Northcon was not asked to return to bid that job and we instead were asked, Northcon now refuses to pay us, they owe us 58,000.00 for the extra work. They have been paid in full . What can we do ?...Read More
