I signed a contract 3 years ago as a subcontractor. Now that the job is finally done after several changes, I have submitted the invoice (all changes were time and material) and the contractor is refusing to pay me. Am I still under contract with my original hourly rate even though the contract was signed three years ago and prices have gone up and this was not a bid job this time around? HELP!
NebraskaWe just received a lien from Fairfield Coop and it says we have a late payment but it is false. They just put our dry fertilizer on our fields, we haven't even got a bill from them. My husband called to talk to them and they said they did it because they won't see any money from "our family". We have never been late on a payment ever with this company. What can we do legally about this? Thanks!

NebraskaI had a contractor attempt to remodel my bathroom. Most of the work has to be torn out; I still paid him 1/2 of what he wanted. He put a mechanic lien against my home, so I had to take him to small claims court. He now owes ME more that what I paid him; that's how bad the job was. Now... how do I get the lien removed? Thanks.
NebraskaI HIRED A CONTRACTOR FOR A PRIVACY FENCE. HE DID NOT COMPLETE THE JOB COMPLETELY. I, TO MY MISTAKE, PAID HM IN FULL KNOWING IT WASNT COMPLETE BUT A THE TIME THE WEATHER DIDNT PERMIT. THE CONTRACTOR MADE ME BELIEVE HE WOULD COME BACK AND FINISH. AFTER 7 MONTHS OF MAKING PROMISES TO COME BACK HE STILL HASNT.
ALSO WITH THIS I HAVE RECENTLY DISCOVERED THAT HE WAS TAKING MATERIALS I PURCHASED FOR THE PROJECT BACK TO THE SUPPLIER AND OBTAINING CASH.
WHAT CAN I DO WITHOUT PUTTING MORE MONEY INTO THIS REFERRING TO HIRING A LAWYER.
TOTAL AMOUNT I PAID FOR LABOR AND MATERIALS IS OVER $7000

Subcontracted work for a New York based company who was hired by a national rental car company to do all the low voltage wiring etc.. at the newly constructed parking facility at the Omaha airport. My self and one of my techs worked 3 weeks, approx 45 hrs a week. Company has not paid a penny and giving lame excuses as to why.. We walked out with approx. 85% of the job finished.. The New York company had 2 lead techs onsite when we pulled off.... Who do I file lien against? Or what should I do to ensure I get paid... I already paid my tech for the hours she worked.. what options or choices do I have? Thank you.
NebraskaWe have always been told that in Nebraska the state will only honor 4 liens per year. We are now hearing otherwise and want to be sure. We also work in Iowa so was curious about their limits as well.

NebraskaI fired my contractor after he turned in a bill that was almost 2x what it was supposed to be. He has since told me I will be receiving a bill for lost time, lost wages, and for his time invested in getting bids from the plumber and electrician and his time in meeting with them. He told me if not paid within a week he will file a lien on my property.
