I have been providing labored service to my next door neighbor on and off over the past four years. My neighbor has since passed away and my services have not been paid. The property has been transferred to the beneficiary of the property and I am still currently providing services on this property. KansasHello! I had a customer stop payment on a check. They told me they did this, I went to the bank and discussed that check with my bank. The bank told me that the check had cleared and there was absolutely no way that money would be taken back out of my account. Someone was wrong, the bank then sent a letter to me saying the check didnt clear but the mail was mixed up in our office and I didnt receive notice of this for months. Now, I am past the 30 day mark and even 1 day past the 120 day mark and am not sure if it is too late to do anything or if I can still seek the money the customer stopped payment on since we did the work at his residence already.

KansasI emailed imy invoice to a company I did work for. They said they wanted more detailed invoice. Then they ask for names of employees, hours worked, what they did and on what day and whats their hourly wage. My invoice I turned in was from joist application. Nothing wrong with it at all. KansasI recently involved a roofing contractor to tear off, replace 5 worn out pieces of sheeting, flash my chimney and clean up the entire mess.
Unfortunately, the job was performed poorly. From the drip edge being improperly installed, the sheeting cut short and installed leaving rafter exposed, chimney flashing installed incorrectly, the roof turbine is installed wrong and a less then acceptable clean up effort.
I have paid no money. I would like the job done correctly, to industry standards.
I’ve tried to communicate with the business president. No success. Can I hire another contractor to fix this mess and deduct it from the bill?

I was instructed to select floorboards from a local store by the builder, and did so. The floorboards were subsequently discovered by myself to be the wrong colour during our final inspection.
Is my remediation to be made against the builder, or the local store?

KansasI am a contractor and I own a granite counter-top company in Kansas. I had recently completed a job for a residential customer in Missouri. Customer(homeowner) is trying to sue me in small claims court for defects and damages. Customer did sign a contract with my company (RockStar Granite LLC). Well I got served the papers and on the paper she is suing me personally and not my business. What are my options? Could judge dismiss the case?
