I was a contractor working on renovation of a flip house in DC. The house was purchased by my friend’s LLC from the executor of the estate of the deceased homeowner. The executor willingly left all the furniture in the house, and an abandoned car in the garage. After numerous for removal or at least the title and keys to the car, we had to dispose of the furniture and relocate the car so that renovations could take place. The car had not been used/moved for at least 10 years. We verified that the car had no history with the police department and they told us we could relocate it to our property in Virginia. We had the towing company use a flatbed truck to avoid damage. We purchased new tires to avoid further damage to the wheels, etc. The model year of the car is 1971, so the old seals on the windows allowed water to get in, requiring significant maintenance and purchase of a cover and canopy to keep it dry. Then we found an old registration in the name of someone other than the deceased. After a very complex and time-consuming search, we located a relative of the 90+ year-old owner. His son has refused to cover our expenses. I can provide more information, as needed....Read More

The work also required pulling permits, (HVAC residential and commercial units installed by licensed HVAC person) and for other system's work, but were not done....Read More
