I had recently done some work on a house in Wilmington that consisted of removing damaged drywall from from multiple locations in the ceiling and replacing it, the leak that caused the damage was still there and I repaired that firstly then the tenant of the property asked me to pack my things and go because I wouldn’t work according to his directions which were nonsensical anyway. The owner and I agreed on a price of $275, I’d received $60 for estimated supplies which eventually came to $35. Since being asked to pack up and go I have been unable to contact the owner except one day through text. What is my best course of action to at least receive payment for the work already done if not the full amount ?...Read More

I have a Gentlemen saying he delivered stone materials to my job site after all personnel was gone for the day, he left no kind of tickets or receipts for this material because it was never delivered I did not hear from this gentleman until around 2 weeks later with nasty texts and calls threatening me, so he eventually came out to job I explained to him we did not get what he is claiming and we could prove it with simple calculations of measuring the trenches he flipped out when I said this and said he file a claim because he knew the head guy in the office of the state agency I was working for, I not sure if he filed a lien or just put in some kind of claim I have no contract with him not even an invoice with our company name all my other suppliers were paid off before i even recieved payment and they wont release my last payment is this legal to do file false claims and the public job holing my check?...Read More

I am looking for a lawyer that deals with contractors for a homeowners case? I am the homeowner and have had nothing but problems with my contractor with leaving unfinished work. Not completing work and demanding me to pay and if i don't he is threatening me by taking me to court and suing me. I am not looking to sue him rather just to have my case heard and in need of a lawyer in case the contractor takes me to court? Disputes between the (Contractor) and myself being the (homeowner.)...Read More
Customer brought the car in for repair. Customer made aware of diagnostic fee and signed initial contract. After finding out the cost of the repair ie replacing the transmission customer could not afford repair. Numerous attempts to contact customer have been to no avail. Contacted the finance company who has a current lien. Finance company initially was in favor of repair. Finance company came back to say they would not pay for repair due to the age and value of the vehicle. I informed them of the impending fees I.e diagnostic fee and storage fees as the vehicle is still on the premises and mounting daily. Currently no repairs have been made just diagnostic and storage fees. Finance company refuses to pay those fees. Still no contact from the owner....Read More

We have a house that was renovated in South Bethany DE and had some work done by a subcontractor electrician who was fired from the job by the contractor. The contractor stated the electrician didn't complete the work properly. Contractor also paid the electrician upfront, per their contract, for parts and services with remaining balance due upon completion. I knew the contractor fired the electrician for poor work. The electrician has sent two letters threatening to put a mechanics lien on our house for the balance of the work he never completed. We paid the contractor the final draw on 6/14/19 and received the certified letter on 6/17/19. Since we are paid in full with the contractor, shouldn't the electrician be going after the contractor? It's beginning to become harassment from the electrician at this point. The letter was sent from his office in MD to the Trustees' house in MD.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated....Read More
