Who do we file the lien against?

New HampshireMechanics Lien

If the GC was the one paying our company for our work and we were hired as a subcontractor do we still file a lien against the property that we preformed work? We were only paid for half and no further attempt to pay the debt has been made. I would assume yes because essentially the owner pays the GC and the GC pays us but I wanted to confirm before I filed. our plumbing and heating business is based out of NH

You are correct - even if you were hired by someone other than the owner, the mechanics lien gets filed against the project property. Mechanics lien rights arise against the property that's improved, not against any specific individual or business.
