We have a job out of state. We are doing the fabrication in Florida and will ship it to Baltimore for us to erect in Baltimore. We have done a job like this previously, without any confusion we only had to submit certified payroll during the erection. Our current contract is requesting we provide certified payroll while fabricating in our shop in Florida and while we erect it in Baltimore. Are we required to submit certified payroll even if we are not ON THE PROJECT erecting?
i dont know if you are required or not, but i would suggest you consider doing certified payroll for all aspects of the job if you are being asked to, including the fabrication in FL. From a practical matter the lack of documenting it could hold up your payment and cause you other unecessary problems to deal with causing more stress for you. It likely is just easier to provide the certified payroll reports so you can do the job and get paid quickly. I've seen payment held up on jobs for things like this and while you may be right, the time it takes to sort it all out caused more issues that only you will feel the negative effects of.
