When does the "clock" start ticking for lien date filing?

TexasNotice of Intent to Lien

When we are looking at our schedule on when to file liens, our time starts when we first begin work. Is this the correct sequence or does it start at a different time?

You really need to retain a construction attorney to evaluate your legal situation and to provide advice. The process for asserting a mechanic's lien is set out in Chapter 53 of the Texas Property Code. The process is quite complex, and often convoluted. You can review Chapter 53 at the following link:

The deadlines for notice and lien filing vary on where a claimant stands on the project hierarchy, and with whom the claimant has contracted, and based on the type of the project (commercial or residential).

Good luck.

END OF MONTH FROM WHEN YOU PERFORMED THE WORK OR DELIVERED MATERIALS THAT ARE STACKED ON THE JOB.

YOU have 45 days after the end of the month in which you did the work to send notice of unpaid billings (LIEN OR CLAIM)
