If you do not file a lawsuit, the lien will be unenforceable 90 days after the date it is recorded. The Owner can demand that you remove the lien, and a Court may issue an order that you remove and lien and impose attorneys fees against you if you do not remove the lien upon demand by the owner.

You can contact levelset directly via a phone call, and they can assist you in getting the lien removed. It's a one page document that needs to be filed with the County recorders office. If you have a written contract with the owner, building permit obtained (if required), and workers comp (if you had employees), you can still pursue a lawsuit against the owner for up to 4 years from the date of breach. Any of the attorneys in California that comment on levelset can assist with that.
