What is the best recourse to get paid on a job?

New YorkNotice of Intent to Lien
Anonymous Contractor

I am owed a substantial amount by one company for 2 jobs. Would you recommend I send a final notice letter? Or should I just file a lien. I have been trying to get paid for four months without success. We do not have a signed contract, we have proposals and emails from project managers authorizing and approving work. The project manager has recently been fired from the company but is willing to give his side of the story and a sworn affadavit if needed.

i recommend you lien the jobs and then consult and retain counsel to commence actions on the liens and in QM and contract in fact.

You do not need a written contract to file a lien, or successfully prosecute a lien foreclosure action. What you have can be deemed to be a written memorandum of your oral contract. I would recommend that you lien the jobs and then reach out to an attorney to discuss commencing a foreclosure action.
