What do I do if the priliminary notice is unable to be delivered?

WyomingLien on Funds
Colby Young
Owner at Guardian Electrical Services

We are in the process of trying to file a lien on a house owner that is refusing to pay us for the work we have completed. We filed the preliminary notice over a month ago and it keeps getting sent back because there is no authorized recipient available. We are not sure what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions on what steps to take next?

Hi Colby, thank you for reaching out. Check out this Levelset article that might address your question: https://www.levelset.com/blog/wyoming-preliminary-notice-guide/ . Scroll to the section titled "How to send a Notice of Right to Lien". There it explains alternative methods of sending and reciving notice and receipt of delivery, besides certified mail.

I hope that helps! If you still are not sure what to do, you may wish to consider consulting a Wyoming attorney privately. Our directory of Wyoming construction attorneys can be found at: levelset.com/payment-help/experts/construction-lawyer/wyoming/
