Trouble with legal property description

WisconsinMechanics LienNotice of Intent to Lien

Hi there. I’m in the process of getting all of the contents for my intent to lien letter. I completed work for a tenant within a commercial building and never received payment. As for my intent to lien; I purchased a copy of the deed online for the property but I’m curious as to if it will be valid or not. I’m unsure if I need to add the “suite/unit” number of the exact unit I preformed work on. Also am curious as to what a legal property description looks like because on the deed, it only has the state, city and county along with it’s document number. Thank you!

The legal property descriptions in Wisconsin are based on the Public Land Survey System; which essentially splits Wisconsin up into a grid. A Wisconsin legal property description will look like a series of numbers and letters; delineating the township, range, and section, etc. It should look something like this (S1/2 SW1/4 NW1/4 S5 T30N R18) along with the municipality and county. This information is typically included in the deed. If not you may want to try and contact the county assessor's office to see if they can point you in the right direction. Good luck!
