Notice of intent to lein - even when GC has been paid

Hi , I just received an intent to Lein notice over email from my GC . The GC has been paid as per the contract (in fact he has been paid over the contract amount) but is hoeing additional expenses that he did not estimate or underbid . What are my options ?

Intent to lien notices must be sent certified mail, return receipt to the Owner--Not e-mail. RA
