I had a "mechanics lien" placed on my home in March 2022 (work was done in February). Long story short, the work was awful and they never finished the job bc we requested them to leave after they admitted to snooping around our home. The lien was in place for 6 months. Two months after the initial lien expired (November), they renewed it again but with added interest and fees (even though WV does not allow). Does this hold up? It was never signed off by legal counsel. I've been told by a real estate attorney that I should pursue a lawsuit since they destroyed my home, but I'd rather let it all settle on its own.
