Does the employee of a subcontractor have lien rights (or bond claim) for unpaid wages in Virginia?

they don't have a mechanic's lien right, however, there is a statute in Virginia requring that General Contractors assure payment of wages by their subcontractors so you should look into that.

Thank you for your reply! I reviewed the statute yesterday, and determined that (because the construction contract was in place prior to 7/1/2020) it did not apply in this case.
