North CarolinaMechanics LienNotice of Intent to Lien

Is it a good idea to let the mortgage company/bank for the property know that we have filed a lien on the property?

Generally speaking, when a project has reached the point where a notice of intent to lien is to be sent, or a lien itself is to be filed, the more eyes that see the document the better in terms of shaking out a payment. The more parties that are aware of the (potential) lien, the more pressure to get the lien resolved. In fact, some states require that a copy of the lien be sent to any party with an interest in the property, like a mortgagee.

If you wish to send a notice or lien to a non-required mortgage lender, that can be accomplished through selecting that party as an additional recipient when you order the document for processing through your account.
