In JANUARY 2012 I contracted with H.E. Feldman & sons to build an addition on to my house. Last year I noticed that the clearances between the shower door and adjoining glass was getting smaller and smaller. Also, some of the cabinet trim was pulling away from the wall. I noticed that there were open cracks on the exterior walls where the addition was attached too the existing house. I called in a foundation settlement company and they confirmed that the addition was moving away from my home. Do I have any recourse against the builder? John Cureton
Possibly, but you are on the clock because the statute of repose is 10 years and you are in year 9. You should consult an attorney right away if you intend to pursue a claim with your builder.
