We here at the Servpro of Brandon have a mold remediation job that also needs reconstruction. The remediation portion was short changed and we took the price down to help the customer. They need reconstruction done on their home so that they can sell or rent it out. We are worried that they will try to sell immediately and somehow not pay us. Is there a prelein or something that we can insure we receive payment on this job
Yes, you do have options. Depending on how the timeline plays out and how the contract is worded, you could perhaps file a breach of contract suit and a lis pendens in the public records. This would show up on the title search and maybe get you paid.
