My company installed signs for a hotel. We were hired by the sign manufacturer. The hotel was built by a general contractor, with whom we and the sign manufacturer communicated, but I believe the sign manufacturer was hired by the franchise owner, not the general contractor. How can I know if my company is a subcontractor or a sub-subcontractor? My company did not send a notice that we were involved in the project. Are we still able to file a mechanic's lien for this work? The invoice date for this project was 8/18/22 and the work was performed in Johnston County, North Carolina.
