Are plumbing companies responsible for replacing grinder pumps they installed incorrectly causing it to break?

I am a home-owner in Santa Rosa county florida and I had a grinder pump installed 10/2017 the company I bought it from and had it installed by hard-wired the pump and did not wire it to the box which will shut it off and alert us if there is a malfunction;causing the pump and surrounding puping to burn up and melt! Do I have any recourse if the warranty and labor was guaranteed for 2yrs, since it was installed incorrectly?

Whether or not you're eligible for a warranty claim will come down to the terms of the specific warranty. A good first step would be to review the terms of the warranty, if one was given. Additionally, if there was a separate contract with the contractor who installed the material - there may be some warranty language there, as well. Either way, reviewing your agreements is probably wise before making any claims, assertions, or even entering into discussions with the seller or contractor (as applicable). After you're confident about your warranty rights, contacting the seller and/or the contractor to see about having the issue fixed would be wise. Often, they'll be very open to making necessary replacements and repairs. And, if they're resistant, then pointing the terms of the warranty should help to move things along. If there isn't a warranty - it may still be possible to go after the contractor who's improperly installed the equipment since there's an implied warranty of good workmanship in their work. Finally, if they're still unwilling to work with you, then making legal claims for defect, breach of warranty, etc. may make sense. And, if it comes to that, then you'd be wise to consult a Florida attorney. They'll be able to review your agreements and circumstances and advise on how to move forward.
