I'm a subcontractor who was not paid 13,000 from a general contractor. i thought level set was going to help me place the lien however i feel i was lied to by them as well because now i am finding out that i have to get a lawyer to peruse this lien. I am a smaller contractor and that 13,000 really hurt me
You do not need an attorney to pursue a lien but I strongly recommend that you use one. There are several statutory requirements that must be strictly complied with or your lien will be invalid. An experienced construction attorney will help make sure you don't miss anything.
