Sara E. Huffman is a native of Coppell, Texas, but is proud to call New Orleans home. She is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana, and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. At Smiley Law Firm, Sara is handling all aspects of construction cases, property disputes, and the occasional personal injury matter.
Prior to joining the Smiley Firm in 2019, Sara practiced insurance subrogation for a national firm specializing in property, worker’s compensation and ERISA claims. Sara received her J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2017. During her tenure at Loyola, Sara was active in the Moot Court Program as a member of the executive board and oralist for the National Environmental Law Competition Team, in addition to being a Top 4 Oralist in the program’s intramural competition. Sara also participated in the Thomas More Inn of Court as a student member and served as Teaching Assistant for the Loyola Law Vienna Study Abroad Program. In 2014, Sara received a B.A. degree in history from Louisiana State University, focusing her studies on Southern culture, history, and politics. While at LSU, Sara was an intern for the Speaker of the Louisiana House of Representatives and worked with the Shaquille O’Neal Life Skills Center as a student worker.
When Sara isn’t working, she can be found attending festivals, listening to live music, eating her way through New Orleans’ vast culinary scene, cheering for the Tigers and Saints, and enjoying the natural splendor of Southeast Louisiana – including camping, fishing and hiking with her trusty sidekick, a brindle coonhound named Henry “Hank” Parsons.
