Mark Stewart is a partner with Davis & Cannon, LLP and practices in the Cheyenne office. He joined the firm in 2006. His practice is concentrated in water and natural resources law, primarily representing Wyoming ranchers. Mark also practices in the areas of construction law and represents several Wyoming municipalities in defending governmental claims.
Mark became an attorney after a 16 year career as a civil engineer. He received a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Wyoming in 1987. Graduating at the depths of the mid‑80’s oil bust and wanting to stay in Wyoming, Mark began a career in civil engineering with a small firm in Cheyenne for whom he had worked through high school and college as a construction surveyor and inspector. He also spent five years with the Wyoming Highway Department where he worked in Road Design and Hydraulics. Mark then went to work for a Wyoming environmental engineering firm where he designed and managed the construction of groundwater remediation and containment systems, soil remediation projects, and landfills at both large and small facilities in numerous states.
Mark graduated with honors from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 2006 where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif. Mark focuses his practice on water, natural resource, construction law, and local government law, where his engineering background and experience provide a technical and practical understanding of the issues involved.
Mark and his family spend their free time enjoying the best of what Wyoming offers. More...
