About Michigan Notice of Commencement Form

This free Michigan Notice of Commencement form is used in the state of Michigan to formally designate the beginning of the project. A Michigan Notice of Commencement is required to be filed by the owner or lessee of the property before the commencement of any physical improvements to the property. Once filed, it triggers the preliminary notice requirement for subs and suppliers, 20 days from when the notice is filed. Otherwise, no notice is required to file a lien.
