The Skamania County Auditor’s Office does not publicly disclose information on recording backlog. However, not that after documents are submitted for recording, they are mailed back to the party who submitted the paperwork, approximately 7-10 days after recording.

If your construction project is located in Skamania County, then yes, you should file your lien here.

The Skamania County Auditor’s recording requirements are as follows:
First Page Requirements:

1. Margins: 3” Top, 1” Bottom & Sides
2. Return to Address (can be inside top 3” margin if restricted to left side)
3. Document Title(s)
4. Reference Number(s) of document s being assigned or released
5. Names of the Grantor(s) and Grantee(s) (with reference to pages where additional names can be found, if applicable)
6. Abbreviated Legal Description with reference to the page number(s) where the complete legal may be found

Additional Requirements:

1. Margins: 1” Top, Bottom & Sides on all pages succeeding the first
2. No Attachments on any pages (i.e. stapled notary seals, taped attachments)
3. Page Size of no less than 8½” x 11” and no more than 8½” x 14”
4. Page Color and Weight capable of producing a legible image
5. Seals capable of being imaged (pressure seals must be smudged)
6. Text size, color and clarity capable of producing legible image (text size 8 point or larger)
7. Assessor’s Property Tax Parcel Number(s)

Failure to meet these requirements will result in a document being refused for recording until it is submitted with the required standard formatting.

The page size must be no less than 8½” x 11” and no more than 8½” x 14”.

The margins for the first page must be 3” top, 1” bottom & sides.

The return to address (can be inside top 3” margin if restricted to left side).

The margins on all pages succeeding the first must be 1” top, bottom & sides.

The Skamania County Auditor’s standard recording fee is $103.50 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page.

Non Standard Documents: $50.00 fee in addition to normal recording fees

Lien Fees

State, County & City Liens & Releases: $37.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page

Copy Fees

Regular Copy: $3.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page
Certified Copy: $3.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page
