The Ross County Recorder’s office has been accepting electronic recordings since November 2016. If interested in doing eRecordings you can contact their Vendor, exchange at erxsupport@conduent.com.

The Ross County Recorder’s Office does not publicly disclose information on recording backlog. However, note that documents are recorded the same day they are received. The hard copies are returned to submitters after indexing accuracy and proofing controls are completed which takes anywhere from one to three days on average.

The Ross County Recorder’s Office accepts cash, checks or money orders with a picture ID payable at time of service.

The Ross County Recorder’s recording fees are as follows:

Recording Fees

Basic recording Fees: $28.00 for the first two pages and $8.00 for each additional page

Effective October 17, 2019, statewide recording fees for most documents will increase by $6.00 due to the enactment of HB 166 state budget legislation. The new recording fee for the first two pages will be $34.00 (previously $28.00). Each additional page remains the same as current law at $8.00.

Lien Fees

For Recording MECHANIC’S LIEN Sec. 1311.06: same fee as for deeds, etc.

For Indexing and Recording NOTICE TO COMMENCE SUIT on Mechanic’s Lien:
same fees as release of mortgage or other liens Sec. 1311.11

For recording or making a copy of STATEMENT OF SUBCONTRACTOR, etc. or certificate of the date of such filing for record: same fees as provided in Sec. 317.32. Sec. 1311.29.

PUBLIC FUNDS LIEN Sec. 1311.29: same as Statement of Subcontractor.

Copy Fees

Copies made by the public: $0.10 per page
Copies made by the Recorder’s staff: $2.00 per printed page
Certified Copies: $2.00 per page plus $1.00 for each seal

Fees are ten cents a page for most recordings and you will receive an exact copy of your document as it was recorded.

If you want a certified copy the cost is $5.00 for the first page and $2.00 for each additional page.
