Deed
noun
A property deed is a legal document used in real estate transactions that transfer the ownership (title) of the property from the seller to the buyer and is filed in a registrar of deeds or clerk of court to be made public record.
A property deed will include the name of the seller and the buyer, along with the legal description of the property in question. Once recorded, deeds are a matter of public record and are a great resource for contractors to determine the ownership and property description of the property being constructed or improved.
